The 101-year-old established club competed in the Süper Lig between 2013 and 2015. Achieving significant success during that period and giving the big teams a tough time, Mersin İdman Yurdu had fallen all the way down to the Regional Amateur League in 2018. The club, now named 'Yeni Mersin İdman Yurdu', currently competes in 3. Lig Group 3.
