What is the iddaa odds analysis spreadsheet for?

The spreadsheet keeps each match's odds and result on the same row. You can filter past matches played at odds similar to a given match and count how they ended, and study the odds movement between opening and closing with your own formulas. The analysis tools on the site process the same data in the browser; Excel is for those who want to build their own filters and calculations. The spreadsheet makes no prediction — it only counts the past.

Which columns does the spreadsheet contain?

The site's odds archive is imported from two Excel files; the headers below are the actual (Turkish) headers the import reads. The opening and closing files have different column layouts.

Opening file · identifier columns

Half-time score · Full-time score · Date · League · Time · Home team · Away team

Closing file · identifier columns

Date · Date-Time · League · Code · Home team · Away team · HT · FT

In the opening file the 1X2 (MS) columns are headed "1 · 0 · 2" (0 = draw). The files also contain handicap columns and a few columns whose meaning is not documented at the source; no statistics are produced from them.

What are opening odds and closing odds?

Opening odds are the odds at the moment a match first enters the bulletin; closing odds are the last odds before kick-off. The difference between them is the odds movement, calculated as a percentage with the formula (closing − opening) / opening. Opening odds show the market's first assessment; closing odds show its final state after the updates made up to kick-off.

How do you do odds analysis in Excel?

  1. Step 1

    Turn on the filter

Select the header row and add a drop-down filter to every column with Data > Filter. Use the date and league columns to narrow down the period and league you want to study.

  2. Step 2

    Pick an odds band

Find the opening odds of the match you are studying (e.g. 1X2 Home) and set a narrow range in the same column with Number Filters > Between; e.g. 1.80–1.90 for 1.85.

  3. Step 3

Add a second column if needed

Narrow a second odds column such as Over 2.5 or BTTS Yes in the same way. Each new filter increases similarity but shrinks the sample.

  4. Step 4

    Count the results

In the remaining rows, count the outcomes from the full-time score column. The row count is your sample; get it with COUNTIF / COUNTIFS formulas or by counting rows after filtering.

  5. Step 5

    Compare with probability

Compare the observed frequency with the probability implied by the odds (1 / odds). If the sample is under 30 matches, do not interpret the percentage on its own.

  6. Step 6

    Add the movement from closing

Find the same match in the closing file and calculate the odds movement as (closing − opening) / opening; you can repeat the same filter by direction of movement.

Example: one odds band in the archive

When a 1.50–1.99 range filter is applied to the opening 1X2 Home column, the archive leaves 35,499 matches with a recorded result. The home side won 49.8% of these matches; the average probability implied by the odds in this band (margin included) is 57.6%.

The numbers are calculated live from the archive and refreshed once a day; individual match rows are not published here. For all bands, closing odds and league differences, see the opening and closing odds study. Past distributions do not determine the result of the next match.
